Overview
The Bioinformatics program targets to prepare specialized and highly efficient values in bioinformatics and its different branches, to contribute to serving society, particularly our geographical area that witnessed the development of the Suez Canal. As a result, our program graduates are highly sought-after in the labour market.
Goals:
The Computation and Bioinformatics Program aims to achieve the following:
- Preparing highly efficient specialists with professional scientific and practical skills in Software Development, Modern Technologies, and Computer Science.
- Recruiting specialists who have the potential to convey their knowledge and translate it into actual business value to satisfy the needs of the business owner in the fields of Biotechnology and Bioinformatics.
- Satisfying the needs of the local and international societies by supplying them with graduates who are capable of serving the causes of the biological fields and occupying the various specializations the business sectors are short on.
Increasing scientific research practice in the following Bioinformatics fields:
- Computational Biology
- Biological Databases Management
- Biological Data Mining
- Application of Biological Algorithms
- Developing New Biological Algorithms
- Analysis/Comparison of Biological Results
- Offering a credit hours system for the students that enables them to select the courses that match their potential, interests, and ambitions.
Intended Learning Outcomes
- Stimulating the students’ creative thinking, innovation, and problem-solving abilities to overcome the obstacles they might come across in their field of specialization.
- Supplying the students with fundamental skills and knowledge in the following disciplines:
- Bioinformatics database analysis and development.
- Computational Informatics System Analysis and Design.
- Thriving the students’ communication skills to qualify them to hold a conversation with biologists to understand their business needs.
- Introducing the students to the processes, steps, and approaches to system development.
- Teaching the student how to design systems using the latest programming language under various operating systems.
- Raising the students’ awareness about the quality standards as well as the ethical and legal responsibilities.

Overview
Software engineering is a special paid program. A program follows a credit hour system and targets developing students' skills, including designing and improving programming projects, formulating programming systems, and how to reuse them. Moreover, the program enriches the student with methods of maintenance, following, measuring efficiency, and documenting measurements. The program contributes to serving the community, especially in our geographical area that witnessed the Suez Canal's development. As a result, our program graduates are highly sought-after in the labour market.
- Special programs General Coordinator (Prof. Dr. Mohamed Abdallah Abd Al-Gaffar)
- Program's Coordinator (Prof. Dr. Ehab Al-Salamouny)
Intended Learning Outcomes
The program aims to prepare graduates with professional knowledge and skills in the interdisciplinary fields of the Software Engineering studies such as:
- Quality Software Design
- Software Development and Integration
- Software Development Management
- Software Security Assurance
- Offering the faculty students, a credit hours system that enables them to select their courses according to their skills, interests, and ambitions.
- Providing students with great opportunities to participate in practical training that will qualify them to satisfy the needs of the marketplace after graduation.
Why Apply for the Software Engineering Program?
- The courses of this program will increase the students’ communication skills, presentation skills, and teamwork spirit, consequently, it will render them well-fitting individuals in the marketplace and various work environments.
- The program introduces the attendees to the latest business analysis techniques in addition to the trends in software development and design.
- Students will learn the methods of maintenance, follow-up, evaluation, and efficiency measurement.
- Students will learn safe approaches to software design and development.
Software Engineering graduates can pursue positions at the following places:
- Ministries, Authorities, and Commissions, whether private or governmental, specialized in production or service.
- Enterprises that believe in scientific and electronic management as a method for effective problem-solving so they apply the information systems principles.
- Technical support for the Computer and Information Systems for all possible applications; industrial, agricultural, commercial, and educational.
- Global Corporates for Software Engineering and Development.
